I suppose after we should have seen it coming: the Trump vs MAGA crash out. MACO. The MACO TACO.
Our dear ischemic Icarus has flown too close to the center of the conspiracy universe, and now he is engulfed in the white hot inferno of irrational MAGA rage.
I am not sad.
But it is worth exploring, because we’re witnessing a confluence of events that, like the plot of a Bluey episode, Trump doesn’t seem to fully understand.
He made a living on conspiracies.
He built a movement with conspiracy theorists.
And now, he got sucked into one, and he’s trying to gaslight them to get out of it.
But you cannot gaslight MAGA.
Because to gaslight someone, you must deny their reality until they begin to question their own sanity.
But MAGA already questions their own reality. Daily.
And they’re immune from feeling insane. They’ve been called insane for years. They’ve microdosed on insanity. This IS their reality.
And now Trump is living in it. And he has absolutely no fucking clue how to get out of it.
