Dear Leader: let this be the end of it.

57

Here we are, after 20 years of a War on Terror, watching the same kinds of reckless leaders do the same kinds of reckless bullshit, trying to drag us into the same kind of useless, costly, destructive war.

After our unprovoked attacks against Iran, Iran attempted to retaliate against us in Qatar. Qatar says they intercepted the missiles.

On behalf of the global population, can this please be the end of it?

Because we are not you. We are not billionaires in bunkers. We are moms and dads, brothers and sisters, family and friends.

We didn’t ask for any of this.

Today is my daughter’s 12th birthday.

My son’s birthday is in two days.

Basic math says of the 90 million citizens of Iran, 500,000 of them share birthdays with my kids.

Did those families ask for this?

For their theocratic authoritarian leaders to pick a fight with an 800lb gorilla?

For them to destroy lives, destroy families, and destroy the opportunity for peace and prosperity for years, if not decades?

Did voters in November vote for this? For another war in the Middle East? For billions or trillions in new debt, all so we can create a new generation of enemies, not because of anything American people wanted, but because a weak man wanted to feel strong after a catastrophic series of political losses?

These leaders, they are not us. And they don’t deserve our support.

You, me, all of us, everywhere. We deserve so much better. Beginning today, beginning in 2026, beginning in 2028, and then, for the rest of our lives.
